As the Vice President of Elements, R.J. leads a newly-launched portfolio of expressive furnishings that provides strategic assets to reflect an organization’s brand and enhance the spaces where people work, heal, learn and live. R.J. joined Herman Miller in 2012, as the National Sales Director of Small and Medium Business. A few short years later, his role expanded to Director of Focused Markets, where he was charged with leading Herman Miller’s channel sales strategy, focusing on the ergonomic portfolio and specialist teams. A huge sports fan, R.J. brings a tremendous amount of energy to everything he does. He thrives in team-oriented projects and opportunities. As a coach, cheerleader and quarterback, R.J. believes communication is an essential component of his success and shares that mantra with his work teams. R.J. is a 2004 graduate of Miami University, where he majored in marketing and discovered his passion for sales and marketing. For R.J., sales represents much more than mere business transactions; it is the opportunity to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Originally from West Michigan, R.J. grew up in a family working in the furniture industry. R.J. now lives in Chicago where he enjoys a variety of sports and travel.
